Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I hope that you will find my experiences and ideas interesting.

My name is Andrew Makrelis. I was born in Athens in 1970. Following the graduation from High School I got my Bsc and Post-graduate from UK institutions as a Mechanical Engineer and returned home to an Engineering family and immediately got a job at a large Greek Engineering company.

Working for the first few years in Greece as an Engineer, when the company established a branch in Romania having already been awarded a job following an international tender, I grasped the opportunity to work as a Technical Director of the Romanian Branch for a further 3 years. I managed to learn the language fairly well and got very well networked in Romania.The experience that I have acquired was really important as I collaborated with Romanians, British (due to mainly my British education), Japanese (due to Joint Ventures we formed with a Japanese Construction Company in Romania) Italians, Portuguese and managed also to land a good contract for the Company I worked for, to be constructed in Greece on behalf of our Japanese collaborators.

Following the buyout of the company by a larger enterprise I was hired by another Greek Construction Company who was desperately trying to get into the Romanian construction market, to establish their branch in Romania. I managed to land them five contracts worth close to 25mil euros. Not bad for one and a half years job. Following this company going into receivership, I was already thinking of getting back to Greece and starting my own job.

After one year of looking around, a lot of trips to Italy and Germany and visits to lots of exhibitions and fairs, I decided to put my love for computers and the internet to good use. I signed a contract and got the exclusivity for www.franchise-net.gr,  specialising in advertising and collaborations with franchise companies and entrepreneurship in general.

At the present time we are online in Greece. We advertise all kinds of Greek companies involved in all kinds of trade and goods selling.
The franchise-net network is present in 10 countries will allow collaborators from the other countries where franchise-net is active to be shown to the Greek market and meet future collaborators from all market sectors.
