Sandwich franchise Subway is aiming to create 1,300 new jobs by 2010 with the opening of 119 new stores. The chain claims it has overtaken McDonald's in this country, opening more than 181 outlets compared with the global fast food chain’s 97 stores.

US hotel giant Choice Hotels has revealed plans to grow its Clarion brand throughout the UK and Europe. The company has signed a deal with Irish developer Kasterlee Limited to launch at least 16 new four star Clarion Hotel franchises in Europe, including one in London and others in Italy, Germany and Russia. |
